Dear Sir,
Thank you for your email. We have received your Resettlement Benefits Election Benefit Form, DS-0234 Biodata forms, and copies of each member’s SIV visa. We have also updated your case with your request to resettle in New York near your uncle. We are now working to assign your case to a U.S. resettlement agency. If the resettlement agency is able to accommodate your request to resettle in New York we will inform you.
Your case will be forwarded to the International Organization for Migration (IOM) after it has been assigned to a U.S. resettlement agency. We will notify you when the referral to IOM has been completed. Please be aware that we cannot provide you a timeframe on the processing of your case, but that we are processing your case as quickly as possible.
Please inform your uncle in New York to expect a telephone call or email from the resettlement agency regarding your case and possible resettlement in New York . Your uncle must be willing to speak with the resettlement agency regarding your possible resettlement in New York . If the resettlement agency is able to accommodate your request to resettle in New York , we will inform you.
Please be aware that if you later request to change your resettlement preference from New York to another location, your case processing and travel to the U.S. will be delayed.
Once your case processing is complete, we will forward your case to IOM for travel arrangements, and we will inform you.
Regards,
Refugee Processing Center
NOTE: You must travel on an IOM arranged flight in order to qualify for Department of State benefits. Should any of the information you provided on the DS-0234 change prior to your arrival in the United States , please notify the Refugee Processing Center as soon as possible.
