Dear Sisters and Brothers,
In this holy eve, CAPNI wish all of you a joyful and blessed Christmas that brings His grace and mercy to the lives of your families, friends and colleagues.
This year again, we are celebrating Christmas in very difficult times as hundreds of thousands of lives are lost in continuous wars, millions of people are displaced in their home countries, mainly Syria and Iraq, and neighboring countries; and other thousands of families are taking the dangerous risky route to flee towards Europe.
For the second year, Christmas vigil is not served, and churches bills are not ringing in the biblical city of Nineveh and Nineveh Plain where the early oriental churches inflamed since the early centuries of Christianity.
Let us pray for Him, the Prince of Peace, to settle His peace in the hearts and minds of the decision makers and guide them to make peace rather than war.
Let us pray for the displaced to return home and live in peace and dignity.
Let us pray for the children who are suffering because of the conflict.
Let us pray for safe release of the abducted Christian Assyrians of Khabour and Qaryatain.
Let us pray for the kidnapped Archbishop Yohanna Ibrahim and Archbishop Boulos Yazigi and all the clergy.
Let us pray for the freedom of the prisoners.
Let us praise with the angels: “Glory to God in the highest, peace on earth, and good hope for human beings.” (According to Syriac version of NT i.e. Pshitta)

الاخوات والاخوة الاحبة
في هذه العشية المقدسة، تتمنى لكم (كابني) عيد ميلاد سعيد ومبارك يجلب نعمة الرب ومراحمه في حياة عوائلكم واصدقاءكم وزملاءكم.
هذا العام ايضا نحتفي بعيد الميلاد في اوقات صعبة جدا حيث مئات الالاف فقدوا حياتهم في الحروب المستمرة، وملايين البشر هجروا ونزحوا عن اوطانهم وبيوتهم، خاصة في سوريا والعراق، والدول المجاورة، والاف العوائل تجازف بحياتها وتسلك الطرق الخطرة للوصول الى اوربا.
للسنة الثانية صلوات سهرة الميلاد لا تقام، واجراس الكنائس لا تقرع في المدينة الكتابية نينوى وسهلها حيث توقدت شعلة الكنائس المشرقية منذ القرون المسيحية الاولى.
لنصلي اليه، ملك السلام، ليثبت سلامه في قلوب وعقول صناع القرار ويرشدهم ليصنعوا السلام بدل الحرب.
لنصلي من اجل النازحين واللاجئين ليعودوا الى بيوتهم ويعيشوا بسلام وكرامة.
لنصلي من اجل الاطفال الذين يعانون بسبب الازمات والصراعات.
لنصلي من اجل اطلاق سراح المسيحيين الاشوريين المخطوفين في الخابور والقريتين.
لنصلي من اجل المطارنة المخطوفين مار يوحنا ابراهيم ومار بولص اليازجي وكل الاكليروس والكنيسة المضطهدة.
لنصلي من اجل حرية المعتقلين.
لنرنم مع الملائكة: (المجد لله في العلى، وعلى الارض السلام، والرجاء الصالح لبني البشر)
